Mr. Betts, a native of Indiana, Pennsylvania, has been practicing law since 1980. Mr. Betts graduated from Dickinson College in 1977 and he received his Juris Doctor degree in 1980 from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review. Mr. Betts was a lawyer with one of Pennsylvania's largest firms, Reed Smith Shaw & McClay, from 1980 to 1994, and he was a partner in Reed Smith's Litigation Department from 1988 to 1994. In 1994 Mr. Betts left Reed Smith to establish the firm of Betts & Perry, the predecessor of Betts Law Offices. Mr. Betts has handled matters in many different courts throughout the United States, as well as before various arbitration panels and administrative agencies. Mr. Betts has over twenty years' experience in handling securities fraud cases and other complex litigation matters. Mr. Betts's practice is focused on the representation of individuals and entities in the pursuit of claims to recover investment-related losses. Mr. Betts is an active member of the Public Investors Arbitration Association, a national bar association whose member attorneys are dedicated to the representation of investors in disputes with the securities industry. Mr. Betts is admitted to the bars of the Supreme Court of the United States, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, and the Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
